“ I believe in process. I believe in four seasons. I believe that winter’s tough, but spring’s coming. I believe that there’s a growing season. And I think that you realize that in life, you grow. You get better.” -Steve Southerland

Happy first day of spring! March 20th is the official start of spring; a day that probably doesn’t get as much of celebration as it should. Consider this chosen quote, for example. This quote shows how spring is season symbolic for its growth. Steve Southerland says that winter’s tough- and he’s not just referring to the times of hunters and gatherers. James Valentin wrote an article about why January is the worst month of the year, though personally I rank February below January. In 2005, one statistic consisting of 1,000 Americans revealed February and January to be ranked as the worst months. It is because of these winter months that spring becomes so much more important, as it is the point where things start to grow. Though many start new resolutions in January in order to commemorate a new year, maybe the best time to start a new resolution is not in the middle of winter, but at the start of a new season. Afterall, spring is the season of growth.
