“If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” -African proverb

This proverb shows where working alone and working with a group are needed. Working by oneself, a task can be accomplished much quicker, as there is little to no debate about the direction one chooses to take. Like sprinting in a distance race, however, you will not get far when you go alone. Working together, though it may be slower, will yield the cumulation of multiple minds and their project will show such diversity. This diversity and debate that springs from working with others will fair better in the long run than working by oneself.
